Developmental edit

Congratulations on completing your fiction manuscript! Now that you’ve taken the most significant step, you can receive a developmental edit (or structural edit) encompassing plot structure, character development, pacing, and more.

I go beyond surface-level observations, providing in-depth feedback to help you enhance every aspect of your narrative.

  • Receive feedback on character depth, growth, and relatability to ensure your readers form a meaningful connection.
  • Access constructive feedback on your writing style, preserving your voice while refining clarity.
  • Walk away with a roadmap for improvement. My evaluation includes actionable suggestions and strategies to implement positive changes.

Testimonials

“Where other prospective editors complained about my large word count and book length, Lola happily took on my project. From our first call, I knew I wanted to work with her, and boy am I grateful.

Never before, had I felt so seen and appreciated for my writing. She encouraged me to keep pushing through my final draft and I was grateful for all the suggestions and insights she provided in my treatment.”

— Koreem Gboneme

“Working with Lola on my debut novel, Brimstones and Rainbows: Memoirs of a Child Bride, was an absolute pleasure. She is truly a skilled wordsmith and editor who knows her onions. I loved every aspect of working with her, from her attention to detail to working within a structured timeline.

Guess who I contacted for my debut poetry collection, Emerging? She’s that good, and I will choose her again.”

— Ololade Akintoye, Author
